Will:

Ok lets go!

Agenda on slack.

Number 1: SASSweb and Elections

Anna:

I just added everyone on SASSex to a “year” list please check it out and make sure it works.

Will:

Update on domain?

Anna:

Nope. We need the username and password for the account. Having a lot of trouble reaching them.

Will:

In terms of elections we should decide if we should use the SASSweb system or SimplyVoting also we need to talk about rules.

Anyone have preferences? We used SimplyVoting in the fall and it was $150.

Tinson:

Security measures on the SASSweb voting?

Anna:

Yeah we have those- in order to make an account, I have to approve them. I have a spreadsheet of all the current artscis and I can google alumnus. I only accept those who have been or are in artsci.

Will:

No opinions then I’ll talk to Anna and we’ll decide later.

Voting rules: do we want to change it from the rules we’ve had for a few years (an email that we’ve used for a few years) or change them?

Any opinions?

Nope.

Questions?

Nope.

Ok let’s move on. I’ll just copy and paste what we had last year after I read it over.

SASSlogo!

William:

We got that purple sasquatch that Remiel in 1st year and his girlfriend made. SASSwear will possibly feature that in the future.

Adeola:

Are we making our official colours purple then?

William:

Do we have official colours?

Elena:

It would probably just end up limiting what we can make.

William:

Ok so let's just make this an ~unofficial purple~

Elena:

The giant purple sasquatch on a sweater might be juvenile so we were looking at water bottles or smaller things.

Will:

What about a little purple sasquatch?

Elena:

Yeah we’re working on it

William:

Any questions about the logo?

Will:

Ok we should follow up with the original designer and compile it on SASSweb so people can access the logos.

Next: SASSex Swag.

3 years ago we had SASSex Swag. Do we want this for this year?

Adeola:

Merch like sweaters might be really expensive so we might want to think smaller.

Will:

Yeah smaller is good.

Tinson:

Enamel Pins?

Will:

Fun!

Katerina:

We could do bandanas? Or blankets?

Will:

So we got bandanas, blankets, enamel pins, and scarves ?

Elena:

Who organizes this?

Will:

I can do it but if anyone wants to volunteer, that would be cool too.

Elena:

I will! I’m already organizing SASSwear.

Will:

Ok this sounds fun lets do this. Anyone have any other ideas?

No? Let’s take a poll.

Poll:

Sassex Swag: everyone votes yes

Adeola:

Let’s put the final vote on slack because a lot of people aren’t here.

William:

Good idea. Voting will be on Slack.

Ok next: Sass social media handles !

We have SASSmcmaster on FB and Twitter and we have MacArtSci on IG and Snapchat. We need to change this because admin wants @macartsci on their own instagram. And I would prefer it if we were more consistent anyway.

Katerina:

We can get Admin to link to our new username in their instagram bio when they take macartsci.

Hayley:

We should keep it consistent with the other handles.

Like keep it @sassmcmaster on all platforms

Will:

We should also make it clear what the purpose of having a separate social media is. To promote SASS events and the community that is SASS, not just artsci events and classes.

Hayley:

It would be good to link them all together (program and society) because it would probably be something to consider when deciding programs.

Will:

We should get the link to our website fixed on the artsci program website.

Hayley:

Offers get sent out just up until may so we should do it soon.

Tinson:

What is the difference between the artsci communittee and the artsci society account?

Will:

The society account is our main one, run by Sophie. The other artsci ones are for separate artsci things run by those subgroups, like communittee, run by Kiana. My personal preference is to standardize all our main handles. We don’t have quorum so we can’t vote on this, but we’ll vote next time.

Let’s skip advocacy priorities and move on to individual updates.

WiIliam:

Jars are going to be put in LRW for Warm Soles. There will be a competition for who can raise the most money. Not my update, just a 2nd year initiative from clare, miruna, and christina.

Katerina:

We’re making valentines for 3rd years.

Paige:

Probably have a few more study nights too.

Elena:

SASSwear order soon. Designs should be up before reading week.

Will and I are going to talk to Dr. Wilson about legacy gift.

Will:

Maybe a giant marble statue of SASSwatch man?

Everyone agrees that this would be a great idea.

Tinson:

1st and 2nd year game night tonight.

Will:

Trisci trivia is coming up. ISci and Health Sci have to coordinate with us.

Haley:

I still don't have a date for dodgeball because trisci is very hard to organize.

Will:

We can cancel trivia.

Adeola:

In anguish because of her passion for trivia.

Can we have artsci trivia maybe instead?

Haley:

That’s what will probably happen if the others can’t coordinate. We haven’t had any trisci events this semester so we’re trying to make the trivia happen.

Will:

I just have to book GM and make sure the two events don't coincide.

For GM, I’m still looking at March 4th or 5th.

Preferences?

Haley:

Check with musical people to make sure its not interrupting a rehearsal

Will:

Could maybe be March 11 instead if it doesn’t hurt the musical.

Adeola:

January podcast is done and going to be promoted soon

Haven’t had an SRA meeting in a while. There will be one this Sunday.

Hayley:

Will brought to my attention that SASS is not recognized as a partner for intramurals so I’m going to fix that hopefully.

Elena:

Partners might be that the societies pay the fee for the society teams. So look into that.

Will:

We can look into paying the fees for official artsci intramural teams but that would be a later discussion.

Catherine:

Opirg is going to referendum. It’ll be a yes or no vote. This will decide whether or not the MSU gives Opirg any money.

I met with BHSS pres. We’re going to move forward with the SafeTalks initiative. It will be either 1st or 2nd week back from reading week. 15 spaces for A&S and 15 for HS. At the end of it, you get a certificate.

Working with SRA health sci and nursing to do a mental health initiative. MSU is running mental health week March 2-6

Will:

When is the SafeTalks event?

Catherine:

Probably the 2nd week back, but I won't make it coincide with GM.

Will:

Ok great bye.
